Phones with PDF

I'm looking to get a new phone for christmas, and there is one feature I'm especially interested in, which is the ability to load PDF files onto it, and read them on the move.
I have a lot of e-books in PDF format, and I'd like to be able to read them easily and intuitively. Which phone would be the best suited for this?

At the moment, I'm thinking iPhone. What are the PDF cababilities for that like?

I use a 'lite' version of Adobe Reader on my Nokia. It works quite well. It's just a little difficult to use with a small screen -- lots of navigation involved. It would be luxury on an iPhone, I'm sure with plenty screen real estate.

Most of the new and existing Nokia Symbian phones all have PDF functionality in them. As ethernet says though, small screen so might not be ideal for reading books on.

Looking for PDF with a big screen then you cant beat an e61 or an e61i.

Palm Treo will also do it

I've used my Treo for reading books (whenever broken down car, condemns me to Dublin Bus Hell), however the books have always been native palm pdb format.

I'm wondering if PDF is overkill for reading books on a handheld device.
Both the PDF reader and book file will be larger than any other reader / format

What if you converted the PDF to txt and used a simpler text reader app on the handheld.

then either convert to a native handheld format or get a reader that reads plain text

tealdocs on the palm reads plain text files

As Ciaranfo says, most Symbian phones will read PDFs. You can also read PDF's on hacked iPhones. The larger screen helps a little!
