Just wondering what people's thoughts are on this topic. Is it really a good idea to have a jury of "your peers" decide your fate? If not, what would be a more suitable method for deciding on a verdict?

Everybody has prejudices. Both the average jurist and Supreme Court judges. That's why your fate is decided by 12 punters - the idea being the prejudices should in theory cancel themselves out.

The jury system has been around a long time, and nobody's come up with a better idea yet.

Suppose you'd have to balance it out by applying the same rules for having a right to vote.... . . which would be . .. . terrible of course... Yes, terrible!

    Bigger Juries!

    Theoretically the most obvious solution.
    Practically though.. :)
