Dont you just fecking hate it when you miss a great chance of some good photography?
Im sitting here waiting for a phonecall about a job i need but really dont want if i can help it and Glasgow has just been announced as getting the Commonwealth games in 2014...theres parties and sportspeople all over the city at different parties etc and i couldnt bloody go...

Thing is paul its worse than that.
Ive just moved back to Glasgow from Donegal.
In Donegal i was working for a local newspaper doing local stories and taking photographs to illustrate them.

Now im in Glasgow and i need money quickly, i have no contacts over here and people dont know my name/face in the same way as they did back home.
Theres a part of me feels like i should really be out there taking those shots and sending them in to local paper etc Just to get my name out there ...but i just cant afford it.
Im gutted

tell me about it, am supposed to have a half day today as I'm working over the weekend. Have all my gear with me and planned to go to the botanics for a bit and practise my macros. But what happens? The MD's laptop packs it in completely..... guess what I'll be doing this afternoon instead

Ah Fred.. Just tell him the flux capacitor is out of alignment and it'll have to go back to dell/wherever it was bought from for repairs.

twas electrical interference caused by sunspots is what my excuse wheel came up with :-)

If only the eejit had regularly plugged in the external HD I'd given him for backups.... then wouldnt be having to try and rescue the laptops drive, as sony will wipe it as routine when repairing..... maybe should start a rant on vaoi's over in the computers forum

all the better... tell him it'll have to be sent off to ontrack or something.. a €2500 bill for data recovery should make him remember to plug in the external drive in future

apologies for taking your thread so far off-topic eirebear, but just got a call from another laptop user....... she's working from home and confessed that she accidentally stood on her laptops keyboard (lid was open and all!).....

When she turned it back on it made a 'whirring and clunking' noise

Didnt have the heart to ask if she was wearing heels..... will find out on monday
