Location of Heat Pump

Hi, I'm looking at going down the geothermal route with UFH and was wondering where is the best location to house the heat pump. I'm undecided between the garage (20-30 metres away from downstairs manifold) and the utility. My concern with using the utility is the noise generated at night time as well as space taken up, while there is an extra cost in using the garage for insulating the piping to the manifold.
Has anyone any info to share on their experiences?

It is not recommended to have the HeatPump far away from the cylinder due to heat loss.
Yes it will take up space but the noise is like a fridge so that should not be a problem.

Go and listen to whatever HPs you're considering in operation. Ours is louder than a fridge. Not a problem for us because its in the garage but I'm glad its not in the utility. Some HPs are probably quieter than ours but the only way you'll know for sure is to listen for yourself.

who did you go with tribesman? I know from previous posts that YOP went with Heliotherm. I'm trying to compile a list of potential systems

i have a HP in the ulility. it is louder than a fridge more like a clothes dryer. i guess we only notice it when like last week it kick in for the first time. we dont notice it now. its something you get use to. but if you are worried put somewhere else. just make sure the pipework is insulated well. i got mine for AHAC in skib in cork would not reccommend them.

Ps all our internal walls are insulated (timber frame)
