Anyone know if there are any shops in Dublin that sell hurleys. I'm after a small one for my niece in New York.

    Cheers

Elverys stock them im pretty sure. Theyre easily gotton, but you might need to check a few places to get te right size. Good luck!

Try and get one through a GAA club. I know the quality isn't that important for you or your niece but the hurls you get in Elverys and Lifestyle are planks and completely overpriced. I'd much rather give my money to a proper hurley maker.

The hurls in the shop are crap, go through a GAA club as suggested.

If you want to go to a store Elverys near Liffey valley (next to aldi and fonthill driving test cenrte) have a big store and have a large stock of sports equipment, hurleys etc. They also had the New York and PDNY / FDNY GAA shirts when I was last there - kids and adult sizes.

if your going to go to the hassle of sending it all the way out to new york, you may aswell get a good one. the o'connor brothers who play for cork make them. they could sign it for you if you requested, or get the team to (theyre meant to be very nice guys)

now that would be something special for her

+1 for an O'Connor hurl. They have quite a wide bass and a great spring which makes it a lot easier to hit and get good contact with the sliothar. My only critiscism of them is that they break a little too easily, but that shouldn't worry your niece. They are based in Cork though, so it might be a bit of a hassle getting a single hurl sent to Dublin. Here are their contact details anyway: O'Connor Hurls, Newtownshandrum, Cork: 063-70249

OP, what area are you based in Dublin? Even if you're not in the local GAA club, I'm sure one of your neighbours is. A phonecall or an email to the club to find out if they can help you should be easy enough to manage.

After todays match between Ballyboden St Endas and Oulart The Ballagh.Oulart might want to poke their head in at this thread as three of their players hurls were broken completely in todays match.:D

Cheers for all the replies. Think I will just have to go with one from Elvery's as its really only for display purposes for her room. She's not even 2 yet so won't be playing with it any time soon.
