Its depressing alright. Depressing knowing that 24 will return at some time after the strike for a seventh season, instead of remaining off air for good. It also begs the question, "Does 24 actually have writers?"

I know it's the cool thing thesedays to slag off 24 but you will all still watch the next series and you all know it

They didn't say for how long, it might only be for a few weeks. They've had a lot of problems with the new series anyway:first they had to scrap that whole Africa storyline which delayed the start of filming, then Kiefer got banged up, then they had the forest fires and now the writer's strike.
Maybe God is trying to tell them something?:D

Doubtful. I was a huge fan of 24 during S3. Loved S1 as well, 4 was ok. Stopped watching it half way through 5 and havent been bothered to catch up. It lost whatever it had years ago.

How could possibly stop watching during season 5, it was epic

Not attacking anyone, just curious: why do people take the time to replay to threads on the 24 forum saying that the show's not worth watching?

Personally I thought the last couple of years were pretty poor, but if I do stop watching I'll just move on, I won't come back to tell everyo on the forum that I'm not watching it any more.

Don't watch it. Now your problem is solved.

A fair point. If I still liked the show I'd probably ask myself the same question ruskin.

I think tho that as I used to really love the show Im allowed to comment on the newer stuff. I want to like it but it's just so poop now. That said I still have to watch Day 2, which I hear is really good.

p.s Jack is far too old now and isn't hardcore enough. Im also sick of him and his constant politeness to people. "THANK YOU SIR" etc. Fuck that. Jack was never polite :|

So many setbacks - it's almost like the plot of... 24!

Its not just 24 thats affected.
The majority of big US tv shows such as Desperate Housewives, Chuck, the office etc etc are affected by the writers strike.

For me, I'm not too bothered. Long ago was the time where I absolutely HAD to find out what was going to happen next. Now I feel the drama that once captivated me is long gone. In saying all of this, I will be watching the next series but if for some reason or another I don't get to see it, I won't lose any sleep. In fact, there's a high enough probability I'll get more sleep.

I kind of think it was a bit of a cop out to delay Season 7 by a full year because of the writers strike. Sure Kiefer was in jail for two months so why didn't they just start it a few months later, rather than waiting until January 09? Seems a bit of an over-reaction to me.

I watched Season 1 when it was originally on BBC and thought it was good, but I kind of lost track of 24 around the end of Season 2. A couple of years ago I got Season 1 on dvd for christmas and was completely hooked again. I've never seen a show that had me on the edge of my seat so much, literally.

Season 2 is quite good, as is Season 3. Season 4 was a bit of a let down, so much that it's the one season where I struggle to remember what the actual crisis was during it. I remember them shooting down Air Force One, but I'm not sure what else went on.

Season 5 was great. The first 15 minutes of the first episode I was thinking "WTF are they are doing?" It was mad.

Season 6 was good for the first 5 or 6 episodes, then kind of went downhill but was still watchable. I didn't like Wayne Palmer as President though. Powers Boothe was great playing Noah Daniels, I kind of wish they had kept him on for Season 7 and made him President or something. Although I'm glad they are keeping on a few other characters for Season 7, but I won't say who for those who don't want spoilers.

I can not believe someone stopped watching 24 during season 5. It is the best one.
