    Y HALO THAR
I just got myself a civilian aug from Eirsoft and am looking for a decent scope.
    Its this aug:
    http://www.eirsoft.ie/store/product_info.php?cPath=22_32&products_id=22

so im not sure what size the rail is (i assume its 20mm?)
Any suggestions welcome, preferably something i can order from eirsoft or airsofteire.

The 3-9 X 40mm scopes from MIA are pretty much the standard. At €35 euro's you cant go wrong. Hell also change it so objects in close range will be in focus. Theres a fancy word for that but i havnt gotten past f in the dictionary. One page a night is enough :D

IMO, just get the Mil, less hassle but seen as you already bought the bad version:p then i suggest you check user airsoftshooting on ebay.ie. Or just search airsoft scope or get a scope and then get 20mm RIS mounts to fit it.

Just to ruin the ending for you. It turns out the Zebra done it :D

I'd think you would be better off with a RDS on the AUG. I just got a scope from eirsoft yesterday, I tried it out on the G36 while I'm waiting on the L96.

At its lowest setting of 3x, it is too high for CQB, outside at 20-30m+ it works just fine, as does my RDS. A RDS will give you a greater field of view at closer ranges aswell.

I bought a Red Dot/Green Dot for my Civi AUG

The RDS I got from AirsoftEire is excellent.
Sturdy and a metal tube. With clip up covers.
Well worth the money. It makes the AEG's look real cool.
Its a little low so may not clear some front iron sites
like the M4 series etc but I dont think it effects your field of view.

My G36C looks awesome with it on top.

My M4 CQB the front iron site I dont think it a problem
but ya may have to take off the back site.

Even though I bought it for my AUG I still have not put it on top.
I'll post pics when I can maybe tonight so you can see if you
think it will suit your tastes. (if I can get a good pic)

Oubliette if your set on getting either the 3-9 power scope or a red dot site id say you would be much happier with the reddot tbh. the 3 power zoom realy is to much in my opinion. But if like me you absolutely have to have a scope  then have a look through ebay for a 1.5 or a 2 power scope, theirs quite a few around and they are very usefull.

If your gonna be running around the place anything with magnification
is gonna be a disaster (in my opinion) (or anything over 1.5/3x mag)

Defo go Red Dot if you plan on moving about the place and aiming on the move.

Telescopic scopes are probably more suited if you are going to be
on a sniper role where you may be stationary for an extended period.
Some airsoft telescopic scopes seem to be crap optics wise so you may be
better off getting a really low powered real airgun scope. They are usually
adjustable for shorter ranges. I personally have no experience skirmishing
but I would guess a 3x scope would be more than enough and 9x would be too much if we are talking about a range of 20-30m.

Here a pic of my JG Civilian AUG with a red dot on it.
As there is no magnification and its Not a telescopic sight
you dont have to worry about eye relief or how close/far you
position your scope on the rail.

If it was a telescopic sight you would have to have it a specific distance
from your eye in order to get sight picture.

The Picture quality is crap as its night time when I took it.

Pretty much what was said above, I have both a scope and an RDS and I prefer the RDS. The main reason being it's hard to get to a good eye level when using a face mask to see through the scope. Looks cool though.
