any recommendations? Something that will wick sweat away while keeping the worst of the rain and wind off.

Any long sleeved running top should be fine. I have a few good Brooks ones, but I'd imagine Asics, Nike etc. all do similar.

Choose a bright colour with some reflective strips for running at night or in poor visibility.

we've a few different ones in the shop (www.amphibianking.ie). The ones we stock are Mizuno, 2XU, Pearl Izumi drop in and try them on.

I find a windproof gilet is great to keep the worst chill off the chest. I use one of these (I also wear it cycling) in conjunction with a long sleeved top and thin gloves.

    CRC have other gilets.

Lidl are selling a nice running jacket (for the price) this week along with gloves and winter running socks. Jacket is only 22.99 and socks are 4.99, gloves weren't much more.

It's always worth your while going into TKmax's, I picked up a Nike winter leggings for 25 euro there recently, you never know what you'll find.

I also picked up some wick material underwear in Dunnes stores (4 for a tenner, on sale) and some thermal vests.

p.s before ye say anything, I'm not a Cavan man ;), it's just a case of passing the time while she's in M&S.
