Using a video sender without the TV

I want to install multi room but there is only one point in the house that has both a tv point and a phone point where I can put it.

Can I place the sky box there and simply attach a video sender (I use the Tevion ones from Aldi) to it, without attaching it to a TV, and then attach the video sender receiver to the TV in the actual room I want to watch the multi room in.

The sky box does not need to be connected to a tv. Just plug the video sender into the scart output.

But if you want multiroom (watching two different channels at the same time on two boxes), you will need two leads coming from the lnb because you can't split a satellite cable the same way you can split cable.

Thanks for that, there are actually two TV points and one phone point where sky will be coming in so one can be used for sky + the other for multiroom.

The sky plus box takes two satellite inputs, this allows you to watch one channel while recording another. If you want to keep that functionality you'll need another lead.

So I'd need to have 3 inputs for sky + and multi room, I think i just stick to sky +

Sky plus will still work with only one lead, it just won't be as good (can't watch one channel while recording a different channel). You can still record the channel you are watching, or record while you are away.

Another option is to use a Sky eye (http://www.satellite.ie/acatalog/Sky_Digital_TV_Link.html). This would require you to run a coax cable between the two digiboxes, which is easier than dropping lines from the dish. It's not the same as true multiroom, the 2 tvs show the same channel, but does let you use sky plus from the second room.
