Lost network key...

    Hi lads,

I am buying a new laptop soon but have discovered that I cannot remember my network key of the wireless internet within my house. I am with BT and so use a ZyXel modem/router and yet I cannot remember my network key.

My current laptop has it stored on it but in encrypted form (it shows it in the box where you fill in the network key but only as dots...you know the story).

I am worried that my new laptop won't be able to access the web within my own home cos of my own stupidity in forgetting the network key.

Is there anyway I can sort this out?

    1. Find router manual.
    2. Read router manual re: How to reset/change the key.
    3. Reset key.
    4. Remember key.
    5. Connect clients with new key.
    6. Profit.

Connect to the router with an ethernet cable, this wont require encryption key. Navigate the router's web pages, look for 'wireless settings'. run the ipconfig /all command at a command prompt to find IP address of the router, listed as Default gateway, probably 192.168.x.y

There is a utility for recovering keys on the PC you run it on. Worked on my XP laptop to find key of a router I don't even have or use anymore.
Using a cable though and WRITE DOWN the new long ayqHu68sadr23ktw9db5z3JHG type key first. Use WPA, PSK, AES (AKA WEP2 PSK)

Set all PCs/Laptops to the same.

The program in question is WZCOOK, gives you your own key from the wireless zero config. Gives it to you in HEX format.
    Its part of aircrack.
