    Hi all,
Wanna go away for a few (3/4) days in the first week in december but can't decide between poland (haven't decided destination yet) or prague - what are they like for shopping? Or are there better destinations in the E.U. for (CHEAP:D) shopping trips?
    Anyone any recommendations?!?!

Been to Czechoslavkia many years ago, but friends have told me that the Czech Republic (Prague) is a tourist trap, prices sky high and soooooo commercialized. Friend of mine went to Krakow last April, had a great time, food was real cheap - he said the salt mines were a great find. My money is on Poland i.e. Krakow!

Have a great trip no matter where you go...

Fly into Warsaw - Aer Lingus/Centralwings/Ryanair all have cheap flights direct from Dublin. I stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel, 80 quid a night - 5* Hotel with Swimming Pool on the 44th floor, with amazing views!! Right next door, 2 minutes from the Hotel door is the 'Zlote Terasy', a spanking new GIGANTIC Shopping centre with everything you can imagine under one roof. Furthermore, Poland is very cheap to eat out in and beer is rediciulously cheap.

My advice would be to head to Warsaw! PM me if you decided to go, have loads of other bits of info to part with. cheers.

Was in Prague a few months ago and failed to see what all the fuss was about. Shopping was awfully overpriced, a lot of it was very run down, food was average and drink was dear enough in a lot of pubs (most of which where dumps).

On the plus side the old town and castle were worth a visit as well as cowboys restaurant.

I don't know why Prague is being dogged here???
I spent 4 days there last year and it was great. Right in the city centre, short walk to everything. Shopping in the city centre was no better than Dublin but if you hop on the underground to one of the main shopping malls you're laughing. At least my bird was!
There's also really expensive high class sopping there if you head to the right district.
If you wander down the side streets, you'll find some lovely bars that serve great food. plenty of poor ones too.

We ate out a few nights in some unbelievable places for 100-140 for 2. Just as expensive as Dublin, but these places were top class and I'd go back just to eat in them!

Can't comment on Poland, but flights and accommodation cost us around 600 max if memory serves me right.

I don't think clothes shopping is any cheaper in Eastern Europe.
There are alot of of the same chain stores we have here, with the same clothes and prices.
I think you'd be better off going to the US for a serious spree.
