    Hi all

Im on the road at the moment and am trying to sort out flights between south america and india probably flying out of lima or la paz.

Its proving very difficult to get a good deal going direct to the major airlines is throwing up $3000 the whole time.

Can anyone recommend a good online travel agent?

Many of the one in ireland require you to phone them no emails (TrailFinders??) The ones based in the US seem to be cheaper.

Ive been in contact with Airtreks.com (has anyone ever used these guys) and am waiting a response.

Im also going to get in contact with studentuniverse.com has anyone ever used these guys

    Thanks for your replies

That route is going to cost alot of money. Book flights seperately....

    Try Lima-Newark (Continental?)
    Newark-Brussls-Delhi (Jet Airways)

Not 100% sure how helpful this will be but anyway.....

You can try to find a fare on http://matrix.itasoftware.com/cvg/dispatch

Note that they do NOT sell tickets. You will need to go to a travel agent and book using the exact codes ITA give you. I just had a quick look and got a lot of results using a sample trip of Lima to Delhi in March. Comes in about €1300/$1850.

American Airlines Flight AA2110 on an Airbus A300 (jet) in coach class
    (breakfast, snack, movie)
Departs Lima, Peru (LIM) Tue, Mar 11 6:50a 5 hrs 30 min
    Arrives Miami, FL (MIA) 1:20p
1 adult in booking code N, covered by fare (A1) below

Layover in Miami 4 hrs 40 min
Alitalia Flight AZ637 on a Boeing 777 (jet) in coach class
Departs Miami, FL (MIA) Tue, Mar 11 6:00p 9 hrs 5 min
Arrives Milan, Italy (MXP) Wed, Mar 12 8:05a
1 adult in booking code K, covered by fare (B1) below

Layover in Milan 2 hrs 35 min
Alitalia Flight AZ772 on a Boeing 767 (jet) in coach class
Departs Milan, Italy (MXP) Wed, Mar 12 10:40a 8 hrs 5 min
    Arrives Delhi, India (DEL) 11:15p
1 adult in booking code K, covered by fare (B1) below

It is very important to use exactly the same booking codes and fare codes that we've used on this page in order to match the price we've found.

Fare (A1): AA LIMMIA NL4A fare (rules) , psgr type ADT $471.00
    Tax: Peruvian Sales Tax $89.50
Fare (B1): AZ MIADEL KLOW fare (rules) $1031.00
    Tax: Peruvian Sales Tax $195.90
Tax: Peru VAT on Airport Departure Tax $4.83
Tax: Peru Airport Departure Tax $25.42
    Tax: US Customs Fee $5.50
    Tax: US Immigration Fee $7.00
    Tax: USDA APHIS Fee $5.00
Tax: US Passenger Facility Charge $4.50
Tax: US September 11th Security Fee $2.50
Tax: Italian Council City Tax €2.50
    Tax: Italian Security Charge €1.81
    Tax: Italian Embarkation Tax €7.48

Total for 1 adult passenger: €1286.01

Thanks for the replies guys really strugling with this one.

Padraig that site looks pretty interesting. Have you gone into travel agents with just the codes? Surely they will want some commission?

Imlost - Nope, I haven't - only came across the site recently. I can't imagine it would be too much of a problem though once there is availability. It may depend also on which booking systems the agent uses. Travel agents' commission here is usually around €20 I think - not sure what the story is where you are.
