Tim Kring, creator of heroes has realised the mistakes of Volume 2 (causing a 15% drop in viewers compared to this time last year), and is working to stop them from happening again. In summary:

    - The pace is too slow
    - The world-saving stakes should have been established sooner
    - The rookies didn't greet themselves properly.
    - Hiro was in Japan way too long
    - Young love stinks

Read about each point in detail (and what he is doing to fix it) here:

That's actually a really refreshing attitude.

They're all fair criticisms and he really seems to be genuinely taking them on board.

Definitely good to hear and it sounds like he's still got a real passion for the show.

I'm just hoping that the issues with the writers are resolved soon. :(

Good news, it's a nice change to see a show's creator react in a quick and positive way to constructive criticism. I hope the Lost writers are watching and learning from this, but somehow I doubt it.
"Kring says a few newbies won't make it beyond this second volume, which wraps Dec. 3" - This news has excited me greatly and I hope to see Sylar licking bits of West's minuscule brain off his fingers any day now. Here's hoping.:)

unless they get every episode up to pace and standard of "Five Years Gone" I won't be happy ;)

    Interesting.

Looking forward to Volume 3. Hope it's not too far away but then again, it might give them the time to write things right. So to speak.

pretty much took the words outta my mouth, on both points.

I do slightly dissagree with the comment about romance though.
The hiro/charlie storyline last season was one of my favourites, not only was it realistic(bar the super powers obviously), it was really touching and sad, and it really developed hiro's character and super power(although yes claire/west is horrible, hiro/yaeko had potential but never really worked)

    No,

Volume 2 may have been a bit slow bit its better that than subcomming to what the majority want because i figure the show will get simpler and more obvious/predictable as the majorty dont have the patience for long winded and or complicated plots

    Small tweak to that, User...

I've been disappointed by season 2 thus far ... big improvement in episode 7 tho. Great to see that Kring recogonises this and that the show is heading for improvement :-)
