anyone know where I might get my hands on an external capture device for tranferring analog VHS to digital?

There are plenly of USB devices on the market for capturing analogue TV usually with a 3 phono or scart connection which most VHS players output. You will pay for improved capture quality but you should pick a half decent one up in PC world et al.

just picked up a video capture device from ebay recently. Works perfectly, and you get pinnacle software free. Here's the ebay member name "urextras", he always has them for sale...and they're cheap!
