    Hey,

    I was wondering if anyone had any info on this;

    Buying something on ebay from the uk, paying in GBP£ - I get the option to either let paypal convert it into euros and charge my credit card in euros

    Or; leave it in pounds, and let visa convert it to euros on my bill

    Given that I have no info on the exchange rate and charges for either Paypal or Visa I'm not sure which option to take... does anyone have some guiding info?

    If the price is relatively small (less than a few hundred pounds) then the difference will be likely be very little. I'm not sure if there's any way to get the exchange rate that a credit card or Paypal are using on any particular day so there's probably no way to tell which would be better.

    Also, all credit card providers now charge a fee for non-euro transactions. Normally this is about 1% I think. There was document on the Financial Regulators website that details the charges by various banks, it was titled Credit Card Cost Survey, but it seems to be missing now. This is something you might consider when deciding, though 1% may not make much of a difference in the end either.
