Structure Question

    Entry is €35, 1Re-Buy@€30 and 1Top-Up@€30.
    Starting stack is 5k, Re-Buy gets u 5k and Top-Up gets u 10k.

Is it ok in this situation to pay the full €95 at the start and sit down with 20,000k?

It was the first time i'd played that structure and i bought in for €35, got my 5k and someone sat down beside me with 20,000k.

Just wondering if this was the "normal" setup?

    Cheers.

Its not the norm in Ireland but if its in the rules before the tournament starts then its fine imo.

The only other tournament I can think of that I've played using this structure is the old $200 super sats in Binions. You pay a $200 entry and get 200 chips. Its a re-buy tournament and some players just buy-in for $600 or more before a hand is played.

Dependant on what your live bankroll is, you have more equity, simply buying in for $35 and treating the event as a freezeout. That is how I would approach, although, this is dependant on your bankroll.

Thanks Stephen. Just seems a bit more fair if the top up is at the break and the re buy is when u go under 1000 or when you go broke.

But he did say before it started.

    Cheers.

Yup. More equity is each tournament and over the long run. Good luck.
