    If they come within 2 to 3 weeks I'll be ordering a few Christmas pressies off it especially DS games which are dirt cheap.. take Imagine: Fashion designer $34 (€23)incl shipping. it's €45 in xtra vision.

    the two biggest sets are clay chips, 500pc; $25 or 400pc professional set; $33

    The chips on those site are plastic chips with a metal inlay to add weight and give the chips an authentic sound when they hit the table and what not.

    The largest set is what's known as the "Numbered Dice" design. They are the most common of all "premium chips" and are a great starter set for someone who's looking to make their home game that bit more professional.

    If you really want to get something special, how about this or this? Or maybe you'd like to customise the chips for him?

    Also what's often overlooked by people who run their own games are quality decks of cards. The traditional plastic coated paper cards just aren't suited for Poker, so I'd recommend a deck or two of these to complement the chips :)

    Hi Murderer,

    Those two sets look really great - can i ask which one you would recommend please?

    One of them mentions the clips are clay - would that perphaps be the better of the two?

    Thanks a million

    I don't know anything about poker sets, but I just saw this on Aldi (Thursday 15th November)

    Poker Set - €20

    * 300 11.5g chips
    * 2 decks of poker cards
    * Dealer button
    * 5 die
    * Aluminium carry case

    Probably weighted plastic, but may be a good deal for someone looking something at the lower end of the market.

    I e-mailed cust. support there last night to find out what's happening. My credit card was debited the full purchase price but they e-mailed to say the order was cancelled due to inability to authorise the card.
    "Thank you for your recent order. Unfortunately, your order# 19346233 was cancelled because we were unable to obtain an authorization from our charge card authorization center. Please contact your issuing bank or charge card provider to determine the reason, or you may wish to use a different charge card to place your order at this time."

    Seems a slight bit dodgey to me, they had my order no. wrong as well. I e-mailed back asking them to investigate why I had been debited and no items sent, why the order no. was wrong and requested either a full refund or the order to be processed.

    Any advice on how to proceed lads?

    Then chances are that they where looking at the order then, so your's may still be open.

    :confused::confused::confused: just as a matter of interest how long did it take for them to take the money from your account. As my account itself, that I created the other day seems to be gone

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,269 ✭✭✭Rowley Birkin QC

    I didnt create an account on the site, just ordered the item. Someone on this thread said something about them taking $10 a month from your cc if you create an account on the site. They took the money from my cc a/c as soon as I ordered. Awaiting a reply from the above correspondence now, failing that ill be contacting my bank.

    i didnt create an account either, just ordered the item. nothing showing up with online banking as being taken from my CC and the order is still at a status of processing with the retailer.

    Mine arrived too....feeling a little carbon guilt over having something that weight flown from the 'States. Dunno how they managed to get it mailed for $6; it says $88 on the franking mark...

    Delighted it had to be sent over burning lots of lovely jet-fuel, I have enough of those bloody eco-mentalists in college every day.
