    Hi Folks,
I'm going to be in Galway this Saturday night by myself - is there anywhere decent to go to? I'm not free any other night.
And I hate dance music before anybody begins.
Infact you, could gauge my tastes from my myspace: www.myspace.com/sinecurea

    Any sugguestions?
    Cheers,
    Steve.

I'm used to the venue, a friend of mine plays there quite regularly.
Damien Dempsey though? Meh. And tickets have probably sold out anyway.

Didn't bother with link either but if you don't like dance music then stick to the West - Roisin, Blue and Crane. Club Arus might be good on a Sat.

Sally Long's obviously for the early pints, then either Roisin's or the top floor of Cuba after 11.30. The Damien Dempsey gig will be over by midnight in Roisin's then it's free in till 2am with an alternative/indie/rock disco.

The music in Sally's can go a bit Shiny on a Saturday 10.30-11pm to cater for the sudden invasion of CPs heads, but then it goes back to rock till last orders at 12.30. Usually.

Oh the dulcet tones of the Donegal girl accents.
    College is infested with them.
you can't go anywhere without some young lass talking like Gerry Adams

That there's fightin' talk, ye southern jessie. How dare you compare the soft musical lilt of Donegal to the chewing-a-brick harsh burr of Belshaft!!

Tis like saying all Galwegians sound just like Jackie Healy-Rae to me...

I was there a few weeks ago and had a great time and a good ol dance. Doors can close early these days (sometimes 12.30 or 1) because the place is packed so be warned in case you can't get in.

    I'm not from Ireland.
    Cut me some slack.

All the northern accents sound the same to me.

    :D I'm only messing

Never say something like that to a bunch of Donegal lassies in real life though, unless you want to start an argument ;)

A few of my girls are down from Dublin so we're heading out on the town!! Few drinks in my house first then into probably the Quays, Kings Head, etc. If you see a Mayo girl in the middle of a load of Corkonians then you'll know who we are! :)
