when will hd become the norm

    Dose any body when hd will become the norm fta channels and the likes think bbc has 1 and few with sky sports and movies at d mo

    and will u able still able to get old digital broadcast

    thinking of getting new technomate 5400 @ 100 stg then there is tm 6900 @ 300stg would it b worth extra price mostly watching fta channels

    HD channels won't be the norm for some time.

    That said, the amount of channels slowly increases. Both ITV and Channel 4 have plans for HD variants.

    RTE of course have occasional HD programmes on the DTT trial, though this is only a trial, and not nationwide (nor on satellite).

    Only a BBC TRIAL on FTA HD. maybe 5 to 10 years before the majority of FTA is HD. It's unlikely inside that time period for the normal resolution channels to be dropped.
