SKY Card in Post. How long have you waited?

    Hi all,

I signed up for SKY at my local dealer on the 20th of September. After about 10 days my card had not arrived in the post so he phoned SKY and they told him the card had been posted to me on the 23rd.

By the 10th of October I still had no card so I phoned Customer Service who told me that because of a postal strike in Scotland it may have been lost and they would re-issue it.

Two weeks later, still no card. I phoned again and was told that the person who re-issued the card had failed to confirm the order and the card had never been posted.

The person I spoke to apologised for the error and credited my account with £5.00 and said the card would be sent out straight away.

That was two weeks ago and still nothing.

Has anyone else experienced this with SKY.

    All the best,

    Brian h.

I moved house at the end of September last year, and bar from when I had my post re-directed for 3 months, I have not received any Sky Magazines since then dispite numerous emails/phonecalls to Sky. (I know there's not usually much in the Sky mag, it would be no harm to get it as they include letters with them on occassion advising of sub. increases etc).

Ha memories - had a 2 month run around with Sky when we moved house and thought we would be better off getting a new install rather than the move house service. Wished we had of when the card got lost in post for 3rd time. :) maybe they knew .........

Brian h, i experienced something somewhat similar to this.
First card never arrived, after 10 days i phoned em up and they had to cancel that first card and send a 2nd.

Another 7 days had passed, still no sign of my card.... extremely angry, when suddenly my Dad calls to the house with 2 envelopes. They had been sitting at a house in my village - where a guy with the same surname and first initial of christian name lives....

Still bugs me to this day cos the guy never bothered to call over with them - just mentioned it to my Dad cos he met him on the road that evening.

So, the likliehood is that your card(s) are at a wrong address somewhere!

Lucky You, you arranged that through Sky, I expect. The lad I've been waiting for 4 months for is a local lad:mad:

    Paddy,

Did SKY just use your first initial on the envelope instead of full first name when you got the two cards.

Sky cards are always sent with just the first initial before surname, as that's all you fill in on the contract.

    Byte,

I used full christian name on my contract form. Just checked it and it asks for "Title", "Forename" and "Surname".

On the old Sky contracts there used to just be a space for your first initial. But now on the new sky contracts you have to put in the customers full name on the new contracts. Perhaps they are going to use customers full names on the envelopes instead from now on?
