I have a friend who has a house in Gortahork in Donegal. Just wondering is it possible to receive freeview from the north in this area? If it is possible what apart from the receiver does he need - a big roof aerial or is it a small one like the one used with the dvb t usb receivers for laptops? All help appreciated.

I would say there is no possibility due to the large mountains between Gortahork and the North. AFAIK the only TV reception there is from a local transponder or via satellite.:(

    Hi,

I live between Muff and Quigleys Point and I want to get freeview. Is there any tests I can do to determine if this is possible. I have a freeview box but I dont get any signal, so I might have to change my aerial.

Anyone know of a company or person who could do this for me?

    Hi Higgsy,

My parents live just outside Quigley's Point on the coast road and we have had reasonably good Freeview from Limavady from a boosted indoor aerial since 2001. Only problem is signal breakup from lorries or buses passing.

Try giving Thompsons in Moville a call. :)

I live up behind Quigley's Point and get perfect Freeview using a Group C/D ariel pointed at Limavady. The BBC's can break up occasionally as they are on low power, especially in bad weather. The ariel is in the attic.
Get yourself a PVR and you're in business.
