I've read mixed reviews of it. Some say the mouse is erratic in some games but works well it others like Resistance, Warhawk, GRAW2 and Rainbow six.

I broke down and ordered one a couple of days ago as I'm a keyboard/mouse player for too long :) I'll let you know how I get on.

I do know and understand it won't provide the same mouse response from a PC game though. The mouse is used to emulate the right stick so it's only going to let you turn as fast as an analogue stick will allow but I'm prepared to suffer that.

Also I tried ordering it from Play.com but they won't ship it to Ireland. I had to get it from splitfish.de/en/

Sweet idea, can never get used to analogs for aiming.

If you change the currency to Euro, I think they will ship it to Ireland. Looking forward to hearing how you get on with the controller.

    Thanks

I think you're right. I wish I thought of that a couple of days ago. I must of added it while I was displaying Sterling prices. I don't think I've shopped on play since they went euro only for Ireland. Guess I'll know for next time.

Well my SplitFish FragFX arrived today.
My first go with it only lasted about 10 - 15 minutes and I came away a little disappointed with it. I tested it with Resistance:FOM and the mouse tracking was a little erratic. I left it at that for a while and then I came back and tried it again after work with the same game for about an hour. I tinkered with the settings of the in-game sensitivity and the sensitivity dial on the controller itself and it was definitely better.

After taking the time to adjust to the mouse and nunchuk, getting used to different button layout and the mouse speed I definitely started to play better with the FragFX than with the controller. 30 minutes or so of playing and I was familiar with the buttons and aiming become a whole lot easier. I was able to run around keep my aim on enemies and with 4 buttons along the left side of the mouse it made it easier to aim and throw grenades at the same time. The mouse tracking in the game is still a tiny bit erratic and the way the game controls itself means you have a higher sensitivity turning left/right than looking up or down. This isn't a flaw in the controller itself as it just emulates a sixaxis with the mouse taking on the roll of the R stick.

The controller itself comes with a small tray for the mouse and a holder for the nunchuk. The nunchuk part of the controller is pretty solid and feels comfortable.

The mouse feels cheap and the left/right mouse buttons are not the same as a standard mouse. They're analogue buttons so they don't click down like a regular mouse, instead they have to be pushed down. However using the configuration s/w available from the website lets you set a very high sensitivity on the buttons so that you can adjust it to your liking. After seeing pictures of the mouse I thought the buttons on the left side of the mouse would be annoying and I'd be accidently pressing them but this wasn't the case and I could rest my thumb lightly on the side and quickly access whatever one I needed. The USB cable is about 10ft long as well so you can sit a good distance away from the PS3/TV. Overall the nunchuk part is solid but the mouse feels a little "Fisher Price" :)

I quickly tried it out in Warhawk as well and the mouse tracking is great in this one. looking around feels so smooth and responsive when you adjust the sensitivity dial and in-game sensitivity. However I kind of prefer the controller for this one so I'll probably stick with that.

Uncharted was another one I gave a go at. It was ok in this too, Smooth but tracking was a little slow. I think 3rd Person games are more suited to the Controller for me.

I have COD4 coming this week so I'll let you know how it goes with that but from what I've read people say it was designed for this game ;)

Overall, it works the way I expected. If you're a PC gamer and suck at FPS with a controller it may or may not work for you. For someone that does play FPS games on the PC it's a step in the right direction. It most certainly won't behave like an acutal mouse in a PC game for people that think it will. The mouse is only going to emulate the R Stick to the limitations of the game. When I get a few more FPS games I'll know if it was worth it or not.

If you've got any questions about it feel free to ask

Haven't used mine now in a long time. I took the time to learn to use the controller in the end. Only time I use it is for a 2nd controller in Splitscreen FPS games now when someone is over. However if you really despise using controllers for FPS games it does ease the pain, just don't expect a full transition from PC to console type of functionality. At the end of the day the mouse only emulates with the analogue stick does so depending on the game you are bound by its limitations.

Once you have the settings right and take about an hour or two to get familiar with it in a game it starts to feel normal. I remember it being great for COD4 because you can set such a high sensitivity level but thought it would be too unfair online against others using the controller so I stuck to the controller on COD4, damn my morals! :)
