    How about a biscuit jointer?

Biscuit jointer would work and I've used my Trend T20 in a similiar application (cutting inspection "panels" in an existing timber floor) but's it's going to be slow. I know that some hire shops have a special door trimming saw (allows you to trim a hung door in situ) that might be suitable.
