Last night I got an iTunes error saying that there was something wrong with the iTunes library and now every it cannot locate the file for any song I play. I keep my iTunes folder organised and set it to copy any new song into the folder, so all the songs are still there and it's still set as the default location for songs. Anyone come across this and know what to do? :(

now i'm open to correction on this since i know nothing of itunes, but it sounds like the library catalog might be corrupt or damaged (who knows why :p).

As far as i know, isn't the itunes library file just an xml file in the itunes folder? or something to that effect.. perhaps having itunes re-scan the folders might fix it, or just delete the library file (which will more than likely erase your album structure in itunes) and have itunes create a new one!?

reinstalling the app might do the trick better either..?

happened to me, i went without the songs for a while as i didn't notice and as i went to play, a little black question mark appeared on the left of the song information. It was a long time ago but if i remember correctly the songs had gone missing and the only way i got them back was to go searching in my itunes music folder, all the track names had gone though.
