    Hi,

Hopefully someone out there knows more than I do!

I'm looking to buy my boyfriend (a man who has everything...) a games console for Christmas but I'm torn between the Wii and the Nintendo DS. He'd be into brain training games and trivia as well as sports games so I was leaning slightly to the Wii. Any ideas on which I should choose?

Any advice would be great. Thanks :)

They're very different consoles. If he's mainly into puzzle type stuff the DS would be good because there are crossword ones, several Brain Training type ones, chess, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire etc... Also the classic Marios and things that nobody can resist! It's handheld so the perfect way to kill time on the bus.

If he has friends over to his the Wii could be great for that. Nothing quite like Mario Kart tournaments and there's one on the horizon for the Wii. Loads of party type games with silly mini games too to keep people entertained. Can't forget Wii sports. Boxing is so much fun even if you do work up a bit of a sweat. Tennis is a classic too. There's all the Fifas available for both consoles but I'd probably recommend them on the Wii over the DS due to limitations with controls. There's plenty of shoot em ups too and games like Resident Evil 4 if he likes killing zombies. It's a very social console though, I'd say it could be fun for both of you if you get into things like Mario or Big Brain Academy.
