Found some cheap flights to Glasgow in the new year and was wondering if it's worth a visit? Kind of split between heading there and going to Edinburgh.

If you have never been to Edinburgh before id say go there, if you have then Glasgow is good as long as you know where you are going

Lived in Glasgow for a while. The niceest part is the westend for going out in, around Byers Rd. Buchannan St is where most of the shopping malls are. I've been out in Edinburgh and Glasgow a fair bit and always preferred Glasgow tbh. The people are more down to earth and not stuck up their own ar$e. Edinburgh is nicer to look at but thats about it. Try and go over to a footie game to get some of the Celtic atmosphere if possible..

Thanks. Kind of being drawn to Glasgow because the accommodation just seems to be much cheaper there. Have heard Edinburgh is a great city though. Anyone know of any good budget hotels or guest houses in Edinburgh?

Edinburgh is much nicer for sight seeing and pretty views. Glasgow is way more fun for partying! They're only an hour apart though on the bus so depending on how long you have there, it's faesible to visit Edinburgh for an afternoon...

Jury's Inn in Glasgow is in a very handy spot and does what it says on the tin!

Found a website that offers relatively cheap self catering apartments in Edinburgh. Had a look at reviews on tripadvisor and the feedback was mixed (although slightly on the negative side). Has anyone any experience of booking through this website?:
