Middle aged men at the back of the bus station

Does anyone know why there are a bunch of middle aged men hanging around the side of the bus station - over towards the porn shop (no its not that).

They seem to meet there every morning in some abandoned garage. Its driving me nuts as I can't figure it out and I pass them every morning going to work.

It is some sort of old fight club or something more sinister....

could be wrong but i think there is a social welfare office or something near that, a door or two down from the motor bike shop

I *think* they may be dockers, getting their day's schedule. But I could be completely wrong!

I love the idea of thinking there's a fight club in operation round the back of the bus station... :D

I've seen Wino Fight Club round the back of Jury's Inn often enough.

They're all probably waiting for the Welcome Inn to open at 9am.

Not too many early houses left in Cork these days. I think we're down to four or so now.

There is a Stevedores office down that street and there used to be dozens of dockers there every morning either getting paid or waiting for work.

Further investigation has revealed that it is indeed the dockers getting their money or work for the day.
Huzzah...! I have finally remembered to go and find out about it.

    Thanks lads.

The place on Victoria road and Ryan's are the two I'm thinking of.

I say four because it was a figure that came up in conversation a while back.

Lets not forget the Sextant near Albert Rd., that's an early house. Just near the docks aswell, characters are to be expected at 8 in the morning :)

What a great place that was. Used to go out with a girl who lived in an apartment there. Was always great getting propositions by hookers and taunts by winos when I used to walk to her place. Made me feel like the women loved me and the men were jealous of me. Memories....
