Didn't see a thread so just wondering is anyone interested in it or have any tips?

At the moment I'm going to go for Purple Moon as there's a chance of overnight rain and I've heard he's good in those conditions.

Other chances seem to be Zipping, Master O'Reilly (lot of money put on him) and Efficient.

I'll be watching it on the big screen at the Ascot meet here in Perth. Should be a good day out!

    So how's the going Xavi?

Completely unscientific approach - and it's a race I wouldn't normally bet on - but scanning the field The Fuzz looked like a good each way bet... and I know someone who's nickname is Fuzz... how can I possibly loose... :D

The Fuzz has been withdrawn along with Gallic and Maybe Better.
While Gallic was withdrawn at normal scratching time early today, soon after David Hayes announced that The Fuzz would be a non runner.

The third withdrawal about two hours before Cup start was Maybe Better. Trainer Brian Mayfield-Smith said the five-year-old was lame in the off-foreleg.

A fall in the third race resulted in Craig Williams replacing Mark Zahra on Scenic Shot in the Cup and Steven Arnold replaced Greg Childs aboard Railings. Both Zahra and Childs were taken to Epworth hospital for precautionary x-rays after Bay Story and Bling Bling came down.

Williams was initially booked for The Fuzz while Arnold had been booked for Gallic.

A crowd of close to 105,000 is enjoying fine, sunny weather at Flemington.

Don't think you got your rain Xavi.

Weather is Fine and the Track is GOOD

Had a wee each way on Master O'Reilly after he started drifting here in Oz. Purple Moon went favourite over the lunch time betting rush..

    Purple Moon
    Mahler

I was going to go Irish with Purple Moon. Sicken me.

Stayed up to watch it, great race. Both Purple Moon and Mahler ran well, connections seemed happy enough. The ground didn't look soft.

Jsut back now from a long day out at Ascot in Perth. Gutted about the Cup. Purple Moon was my big tip to win and he looked certain until Efficient pipped him on the line. As was said, crackin race but I was gutted. My day did improve slightly though when two foxy ladies started kickin the sh1t out of each when one commented on the other's dress! Unfortunately it was broken up before I could start giving out odds.

Aye was walkin around sydney and the pubs were packed out with birds in full garb hats and all and they were just in pubs. The whole country dresses like they are going to flemington itself. Great to see a whole country get festive.
