Am I wrong?

Was playing in my local card room tonight in Limerick, The Fitzpatrick. The tournie was a €50 freeze, like they have almost every night (they are not blessed with an imagination of any sort).

Was at the final table. There was 7 left. I was utg + 1 with an average stack. The average stack was 3 BLINDS!!!! To me this is just a disgusting situation to be in. I got knocked out this hand, pushed with ace 6, called by jacks.

As i was walking to the door to leave I commented to the TD and General Manager that the average stack was only 3 blinds only to be met with a barrage of smart comments!! I then decided to argue the point, that 3 BB's average is just wrong regardless but my pleas were falling on deaf ears...

Now my question is, am I wrong to complain about such a situation or is the TD right with his 'ah but the tournie has been going a while' attitude??

Definitely wrong to be giving any attitude.

Its standard practice in English casinos for the staff at blackjack tables etc to have that kind of banter with punters but it doesn't really wash with us Irish poker players, imo. I know the lads and although they are all fairly new to poker they will take on board suggestions from players.

About the three big blinds, I am sure you are right and that it wasn't much value but as you know tournament organisers often get the blame for players playing too tight and hanging in there around the bubble. How long were the blinds, starting stacks? and how many players took part?

There was only 26 players. Quiet enough tonight. With a 6k stack and 20 min blinds. All not too bad but it is widely known in limerick that they have some of the slowest dealers you will come across, with no real training of how to deal poker. (croupiers) You might get 6 hands a blind level, that would be the norm there.
