I've lost my passport and am meant to be going to Berlin early Thursday morning. If I go to the Garda station tomorrow, get the form filled and go to the passport office is there any chance I can get one in time?

Yeah you can get one in a few hours if you're ****ed. Just ask them to issue it as an emergency. Bring tickets as proof you're going away thursday.

Get everything you need and call in to the passport office in person. Explain your case and you should be ok. Passports can be done in 2-3 days for emergency cases, but I think it costs a few euro more.

You could be in trouble, :|
If you need a passport in less than 10 days you will need to apply in person to the Dublin or Cork Passport office with a completed application and proof of travel, eg internet booking or travel tickets. If you have lost your passport or are a first time applicant you must allow 10 working days for the issue of your passport as all such applications must be thoroughly checked before being approved.

I suggest calling first thing in the morning to find out what the story is.

Should be ok. I got a passport in 2 or 3 days before.

Was that a lost one or a renewal one?

Oh crap.... it was a renewal... Sorry. Looks like you're screwed...
No harm in asking anyway. They might be able to help you out
