Hard drive went last week, i keep my music on an external HD which iTunes organises.

Found a backup of my hard drive which is 2 months old, now i want to load up the iTunes XML file to restore my library but what happens to all the music I have added in the last 2 months? will i have to find all the music I have added and manually reload it or is there a way to rebuild my library like you can do with iPhoto?

    Thanks!

I would say that is the only way, if you had not backed it up on your external drive then it is gone.

it could have been a hell of alot worse - i'd just build the library from scratch. Just make sure the copy to iTunes library option in the preferences is turned off. It'll take a while, but at least all the music will be there.

Re-add the music you've added in the last two months, or get iTunes to search for it. Don't start from scratch unless you don't care about song ratings, number of times played etc as that will get reset
