TV advice - Budget approx 1000 euro

Im looking to get a TV for my parents, from what I hear the Sony Bravaria is the one to get but Im afraid it’s a bit out of my budget of 1000 euro. Can anyone suggest a decent LCD around 37- 40’ that’s a good alternative to the SONY?
