I have a client who are considering allowing their customers to pay their bills through billpay.ie and informs me that they issue customers with a card containing their customer number which they'd like to interface into our system through a hand-held scanner. No problem there, just wondering if anyone knows the symbology…

With bars of multiple widths, it looks like one of the Reduced Space Symbology (now known as GS1-DataBar) barcodes:
