Dell Ebay - suspicious history

I think some one commented on this before but I've often watched and/or bid on items from dellfactoryoutlet and I've noticed unusual bid histories

Now I know its possible some one is bidding on items to his limit and the trying again on the next item - I've done that myself

But I've noticed on 4 individual items , and not the same spec that the bidder is the same bringing the price to a certain amount

He also came up as a winner on two items but is not listed in dell's Feedback .

I think every one has noticed people paying crazy prices through the Ebay shop, but this very much looks like forcing the price up , and it just bugs me . why not set the openi ng figure at the minimum they want ?

    rant over

I thought the same about pixmania's eBay store too. Both companies would have enough staff to allow them to set up bumping accounts and both companies are selling refurb items separately from their own sites
As for not setting a minimum opening price that they can live with, it's probably to avoid eBay fees which are part-determined by things like starting price and reserve prices.
Bumping like this also creates a possibly false impression that there is a lot of interest in the item and it also tries to start a bidding war, the only winner of which is usually the seller...

I have no conclusive proof that these stores are doing this, but if you have or have reasonable suspicion of them, try reporting it to eBay (for all the good it'll do)

The asterisks are to protect the bidder ID....this is a security feature to stop users being contacted to enquire about bid amounts, second chance offers or how much their accepted offer to a seller was...

If you put in a bid, what displays for your name? Maybe it's a weird privacy thing

Edit: I bet Wertz has it

n**8 is the same person, he buys on that site and sells again on Ebay for higher prices, I did notice that myself that all of a sudden when he bids the price rockets up.

His name has been mentioned on the Dell Truck Loads thread on the bargain section.

    E**E, not sure about though.

If you add an item to the your watch list, when it ends and he wins it, then his real ID is displayed. ;)

He goes up in 50 euros, maybe worth dropping Ebay a line about it

^ Can you link to the specific item where that bidding list came from awhir? No machine currently on D-O @ €770.
I've a feeling those are all automatic bids generated after someone else entered a greater bid....without anyone else's bid ID or timestamps, it's impossible to tell.
AFAIK you can't just keep bumping up a price on your own....you need someone bidding against you for that to happen. The bid increments are €50 each time too which is kind of odd (I'm not sure what the minimum bid amount is at those price amounts)

Ok so I don't use eBay that much at all but does it not work like:

If the guy above put in a maximum bid of €800 and the current bid is say 600, it goes up in the smallest increment available? Then when somebody else bids, they will automatically be outbid by the guy with a max bid higher than theirs?

Thats what the above looks like to me but I dont use eBay enough to comment on it!
