Ok the fight is almost upon us. So who wins?

For me, the winner will be Kessler with a late stoppage, my only concern being that Kessler has not sparred as much in the build up due to a sore hand (his right).

But I think Kessler is very underated by many and will prove to be too much for Calzaghe.

What will the outcome be? 31 votes

I've tentatively voted for Joe, but the closer it gets the more I'm inclined to change my mind.

However, I still think speed will be the biggest difference with Calzaghe taking a close hard fought UD.

    Calzaghe wins
I have heard a lot of people say that Calzaghe's speed may be the deciding factor, Kessler is no slouch when it comes to hand speed and his positioning is, for me, far better than Calzaghe's.

I think Kessler hits a lot harder too. I'm hoping for a cracker of a fight at the weekend when they do meet though.

Anyone know what time the fight is due to start on Saturday night?

Joe to edge it, hopefully he will get a chance to load up the shots like only Joe can. Think it will start around the 1am time. The tv coverage is from 8.15pm to 3am so they must be showing all the undercard.

I have emailed into setanta to see if there is a ruling like fight won't start before 1am for american markets which I suspect would be the kind of thing that will happen.

Fight starts at 1:30 , it can't and won't start earlier due to HBO .
Undercard starts at 8:15 alright but due to talking and building up the big fight I suspect we won't be getting quite everything(not in full anyway) .

I have to say I'm anxious for this one to start already , imo the 2 best fighters from Light-Middleweight all the way up to heavyweight will be facing each other .

Calzaghe by decision. I don't see him stopping Kessler or Kessler stopping him.

    lol,....

dont think Kess is quick at all,..but ill have to go along with CowzerP with the late stopage theory.

Mick to win end of round 10.

by the way guys,......... should we do a little competition on this board , with opinions on fight outcomes ?...

cant imagine too many people would take part, but the boxing forum has regulars with very strong opinions !!

With all the top cards on the way , could be a nice little league amongst us.
The poll on each fight tells us each members views on the winners.

    maybe something like:
    (a) 10 points calzaghe win
    (b) 15 points Kessler win
    (c) Draw - no score/no loss.

    Anybody any ideas ?,......

i'd be up for it, draws should get more points though as there harder to predict! 10 points for correct winner and 20 for correct round with 5 for guessing a decision, what you think? we'd have to start an official page and get people to work off it?

If you don't think Kessler is quick you're in a for a shock . I'm picking Calzaghe but Kessler is the hardest fight of his career and he's not getting any younger . Also the straight right is the one punch you can land on Calzaghe and Kessler throws that shot very well , quick , straight as an arrow and with power .

I'll have you know I am bloody quick. :D

And Kessler is even faster. The guy has good hand speed, nearly as fast as Calzaghe, and in my opinion, he hits harder.

Love the idea of a league table on predictions.

Enzo cool and calm as always will be in the shower and back in his seat for the big one.

Vegas is unbelievable, will be sticking a few quid away to get back there again in the next 6-18 months, has to be seen to believed.

Shane is building up for this one again, should be a cracker, not sure who'll win but Shane is class and will be a tough opponent.

He won't get the Haye fight . Haye has said win or lose v Mormeck and he's moving up to heavyweight . Enzo actually had the chance to fight Haye when Haye chose Bonin as his heavyweight debut a couple of months ago . But Warren insisted on having options on Haye(his next 5 fights) should he win .
Shows the confidence Warren has in Enzo  .

Doesn't matter really , Mormeck is the real champ and Haye would of chinned Enzo easily anyway .

Fair enough haven't see Haye too often, have seen alot of Enzo and like the way he bangs them out and if he can tidy up even more might do very well.

We all know Enzo Calzaghe has a good stable but Setanta really are saying it too much.
