About bloody time we got some new material.
NBC and Sci Fi are trying to destroy this show by having these huge breaks,13 months between Season 3 and 4.
I cant see what the delay is,half of series 4 has already been filmed .

Well all i can say is wow. A simply amazing story. If they take a 13 month break between quality footage like that....Well im fine with it. 10/10.

    WHERE WHERE WHERE?

None of my usual suppliers have it!

So its the definitive version - not a pre-special effects cut ?

    Its the full thing allright.
It was sent to select journalists over 2 months ago.

hmm, that was a bit disappointing.

The special effects were poor and the storytelling was very weak. The constant jumping between different times killed any momentum.

Allow me to re-phrase that as...

Are you mad? You must of gotten a fairly crap copy. The one i have has the opening intro, and closing credits. The special effects are amazing.

  • Users Awaiting Email Confirmation Posts: 15,001 ✭✭✭✭Pepe LeFrits

The quality of the copy was good, the quality of the FX was not. Several times throughout the film I was taken out of the show's reality because the FX looked so fake; the Cylons were especially weak.

Yes, I can see how posting absolutely nothing of any consequence in a thread on Razor could be upsetting for some.

I'm with Anti all i can say is wow. Special effects could'nt really give a toss, did'nt look particularly bad, fantastic story.

Yeah, none of my cousins in America have it anyway. Well the ones that use a public postal service anyway. The only reletaives that have it seem to use a few different private postal services. To the guys who have it. Are you lot users of private postal services?

ANyway I'm really missing my cousins. Can someone PM me so we can talk about mutual relatives over in yankland?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,816 ✭✭✭Calibos

I think I managed to track down some cousins who have it. They live in the Frisco 'Bay' area and use the public american postal service instead of the Private DHL one. Hope the cousins aren't sending me a dud.

Lol @ all these cousins :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,920 ✭✭✭AnCapaillMor

Thank god for these cousins, if only there was some sort of international network where cousins could send stuff electronically.

Anyway did'nt think it was possibly to dislike Kane anymore until this episode.

    Cousins? I prefer torrents myself.

Terrence you say, is he your brother?

Don't want to be a spelling nazi but I think he meant Torrence, as in Sam Torrence.

Yeah, well we've all got famous cousins too but you don't see us bragging about it.

    Very poor form pepe :(

First rule of torrence club...You dont talk about torrence club

Second rule of torrence club...YOU DONT TALK ABOUT TORRENCE CLUB!!

......which actually has a better ring to it. I think you should change your name again!

    New Battlestar! About fraking time!

Great episode. Or Tv-movie, or whatever.
I thought it was a bit hard to believe Kane was *that* bad-ass. Her relationship with Gina could have accounted for some of it (as was the obvious intent) had it been given some more time to evolve on screen, but after a hug and some sideways glances at a dinner table I wasn't really buying her lover scorned vibe.

And no Baltar :( ...or was he away with the Cylons at this stage?

Apart from that minor annoyance everything was top-notch. Can't wait for the new series...

    I didn't see the mini-episodes. Worth watching?
Are the scenes in this a direct continuation of them?

  • Users Awaiting Email Confirmation Posts: 15,001 ✭✭✭✭Pepe LeFrits

    The mini-episodes
just give a bit more background to Adama's mission at the end of the first Cylon war.

    Also, regarding Razor,
Baltar was in it, he just didn't have any lines.

    I liked it! 8/10 :)

I'm guessing the present day events are set somewhere between The Captain's Hand and Roslin being cured ?

But the events of the First Cylon War -
Was that the original Leoben and Six that Husker discovered behind the door? I also reckon we were probably supposed to these scenes first in upcoming Razor minisodes.

    Also @Goodshape,
regarding Cain's badassness - the version i watched has 3 other Cain's (incl her dad) credited at the end. However they didn't appear in the version I watched. I'm guessing there's some traumatic scene from her youth involving her family which has been left out and appearing on dvd only ? And this scene might be critical to the evolution of the character into what we now now.

Yes i did see and point out the resemblance as well but if that where true then that would mean
that Pegasus killed the cylon god, the one who created the 12 and he/it probably did it in two batches, the 7 first and then... the Final Five.

Anyway we never saw the cylon god before this movie, i was not sure if he even existed, seems like a more sentient version of a hybrid to me, and very good to see the old style cylons,
    ]

I thought this was amazing, one of my mates complained it was jumping too much but i loved this episode/movie and will give it 10/10. Ill pm mods, get them to add a poll but ...anyway question was the whole point of this movie just to let us the viewer know that
star buck is the harbinger of the apocalypse

I would have thought the main point of this movie (and tbh the writers keep bashing the viewer over the head with it) was the difference in command styles between Shaw / Cain and Apollo / Admiral Adama.

Shaw is a 'Razor' - a human weapon always ready to carry out her commander's (Cain) orders unflinchingly and without question during wartime even if it means dping 'bad things'. Whereas you can see Apollo is consistently doubting himself, questioning his superiors orders and even overruling them (see the nuke at the end) on occasion.

    Just watching it again, and
I only just made out what Belzen said to Cain at the start when she's at on the treadmill - he says '[his wife's name, inaudible] and the girls would love to see you'... I knew they were supposed to be friends, but I didn't realise they were meant to be that close! Man, Cain is COLD!
