they have a 14 day return policy, you can return it and get an upgraded spec if you like...

the irish store is not updated yet

Most stores only have the new specs listed in the compare pages for some reason, as per the link. PeakOutput you can return yours as it's within 14 days, but everyone saw this update coming anyway.

I wonder why they didn't get LED screens. Didn't El Jobso say that Macs will be all LED by 2008?

hate to kill the buzz peak, but I doubt they will ship you one of the new models, at least I would be EXTREMELY surprised if they did. They can be very "fussy" like that.

anyone know if i'd see a huge difference with a hybrid drive in the macbook? in terms of battery and performance. Reading the reviews and comparisons it doesn't look too good, but atm leopard doesn't make the provisions that vista does for those type of drives? I'm gonna get a new macbook :) ordering later.

I bought my gf one literally two or three days ago from the Apple ireland site---I'm going to avail of the free Nano offer. Which brings me to my point---they clearly wanted to flush out the dregs of the older model by enticing people with the ipod offer. And it worked. I'm not going to worry myself over the graphics issue---only people who are OCD about getting the "newest, best value" model---which it clearly isn't---will push for this replacement.

Smart people, like me, will get a Nano for free, and chuckle at the inanity of the constant and needless upgrades.

My point: if you want decent graphics, dish out for a Pro. otherwise, wait til Apple cool their heels and offer a similar deal like the one I snatched.

    End of transmission.

Huh? Updates happen, it's called technology. No one said you weren't smart for not waiting. I just made the valid point that everyone saw this update coming.

"The MacBook Pro now has the option to upgrade to a 2.6GHz processor for $250, and also has the option for a 250GB drive."

Damn, damn, damn. I really could do with an extra 90Gb of hard disk space on the internal. Oh well maybe it's time for a not-near-spring-clean!
