I would much prefer the original N95-1 with the removable memory and camera lens protection. The N95 8GB has no memory slot

Already on sale in UK with Vodafone - free with a contract. I saw them in Singapore and Malaysia about a week ago. About 600 Euro over there sim free.

What?!?!?!?! I'd hate to be the poor sap who pays a grand for that.

    Okay...I ... I pass ....

Pity though. The battery life seems to be an issue with the regular N95.

The N95 8gb seemed to be the way to go.... until that stupid price shows up.

What a rip off, look at the price on their US website

let's see what other vendors have to offer.

prices don't seem to be consistent. ex: the N95 on O2.ie is 300 euros more expensive than Expansys.ie

A standard n95 network free costs about 700 what price did you think this was going to be ?

seems like expansys saw this and have dropped the price by 70 euro still way too much

If the new n95 doesn't have a micro-sdhc slot for removable memory surely transferring large files like movies and maps over is going to be a pain.

With the old n95 you can just pop the micro-sdhc card into a card-reader ; with the new n95 you can't- you presumably need to use slow syncing software everytime, no?

Saw it in Singapore 2 weeks ago for about 600 Euro (inc vat)... the expansys price is just a stupidity tax... like the iphone early buyers tax. Just as a recap when the original n95 was launched it was meant to be priced at about 550 inc Vat. But it was priced at about 800 here. So this is just following the regular pattern of it being a STUPID price for the first 3-4months. The original n95 can be got for about 380-400 Euro now so its probably wholesaling for about a little under 300... do you really think the new one is that much dearer to produce. I'll be in Malaysia in December and I'd imagine it will be about 580 Euro there... so anyone who buys at a grand is a twit!

i spoke to nokia about it today... out on vodafone just before xmas and then on o2 in january. he said it'll be about 100 euro dearer than the n95 is currently with Vodafone. Their site is so slow i haven't been able to find that out yet though...

original n95 is 800 quids on O2. So that makes your n95 8gb a costy 900.. Out of the question

ridiculous. I am considering buying it on Expansys.

Maybe; the Americans use different frequencies for their 3G so you need to check that you are not getting a U.S. version.

    The americans don't have 3g.

Expansys had the original N95 for about that same price when it was launched first.

AT&T (formally Cingular) provides 3G services in many major cities. T-Mobile is in the process of rolling out their network.
