Hi all, Im going out on 5weeks teaching practice on Monday. Have 2nd class. 30 children. I was wondering has anyone any activites/tips on what to do with them for the first hour so I get to know them and them me? Thanks:)

You could play a game like 'Fruit salad'
Each child is given the name of a fruit like 'Apple, Orange and Banana'. Chairs are put in a circle and the children sit on them. When you shout apple the apples get up and change seats, Banana the bananas change seats etc. Its a fun game I found useful when I was on teaching practice.
