Home hydrogen energy station

In addition to working on hydrogen cars, Honda is also working on a “home energy station” which is like having a private filling station in your front drive to tank up your hydrogen car – which will also provide electricity and hot water for the house.

While this one makes hydrogen from the domestic gas supply, an even more interesting version might use electricity and water instead. The electricity could come from an on-site windmill/or solar cells – as well as from the grid (off peak / “surplus” wind energy sold cheaply via smart metering).
