Has anyone got a call from Paypal before. After about 5 minutes of me sending money by Paypal,someone from Paypal rang me (I presume from America because the lady had an American accent). She didn't want any details, she just wanted to know if I was sending €260 (the amount I was sending) to someone and that was it? I asked her was there a problem and she said no and it was for security. Is this normal?

Strange, did she get you to confirm any details at all? If it's a security check they normally use some sort of verification, otherwise how do they know it was the account holder they are talking to and that the holder authorised the transaction.

Are you a new Paypal user? Could have just been checking since it's a large sum of money.

Well she knew my name. I have been a Paypal user for a while. When I picked up the phone she asked for me and she said that I sent €260 and that was about it.

I know they have a fraud prevention department that I believe at random checks transactions made through the system. I had a call like that once as well asking if I made a payment to an US account. Probably got flagged as I was abroad at the time I made that payment.
