    heres the story im renting a student house planning on getting chorus.Its a 12 month contract 19.99 for first 6 then 55 heres the thing,il pay through direct debit in an account i dont use and i plan on not paying after 6 months.what are the consequences anyone???

    you'l get disconnected and probably out you in bad credit if you dont pay up

    the bank account might allow you to overdraw..
    and then charge you crazy rates!
    and as a forementioned bad debt..

    I don't know if they'll allow renters to sign up without getting the landlords approval, don't ask me how they'd know.

    Why do you have to pay by direct debit? Why not just pay down the local post office? or on-line

    As far as I know chorus dont enforce their 12 month contracts for the tv service...Even if they do the worst you'll have to pay is the lowest possible sub times the months left in the contract.
    Not paying is just stupid, you'll end up being caught for it eventually (most likely when you apply for a loan and its refused due to your credit history)

    There's a €100 cancellation fee if you break your contract within the first twelve months.
