Táin Trail and Cycling Route

Does anyone know anything about this route. I'd love to do it but i cant seem to find anywhere that shows the route or gives any information about what kind of bike you'd need. Is it to rough for a road bike?

Funny your query - I just picked up the brochure this weekend at Trim Castle - it's a route I've imagined would be wonderful since I heard about it. Looking at the paper map (there's a poorer one on the webpage above) the route seems to stick to secondary roads. Having been cycling some of these roads only last weekend, I'm afraid they can be quite busy near urban areas and I never saw any indication that I was on the Tain trail.

However the route is full of castles, abbeys and wetlands so it looks like some lovely cycling. It's all on-road AFAICS and the 500km+ route is broken into nice 2-day or three day chunks.

I'm gonna head for the Carlingford section next chance I get, that part is brilliant.
