Getting Online with PC - Port Forwarding :(

    Guys,

    Every year I have the same problem. PES requires some port forwarding to connect online.

    Tried to go online with the PC version last night and when I go to 'Network' it tests the connection but gives the error message about being unable to use port 1570 (I think thats the nbr).

    I have a Zyxel modem and Linkysy wireless router.
    I tried port forwarding with both together and each on their own and still no luck. Have been to portforwarding.com and managed to do this successfully last year.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Brian.

    Thanks Kdjacl but still no luck.
    Firewall is off btw.

    I have the broadband connection coming into the Zyxel and then from there to the Linksys (wireless router) and from there to the PC.

    Do I open the port on the Linksys or the Zyxel ?

    Cheers,
    Brian.

    Both i would imagine but ensure its forwarding to your PCS ip 192.168xxxxxx.

    Think the modem open it for both on both but open it for the routers ip too just to cover everything.

    crikey...I am completely lost now :(

    Zyxel: 192.168.1.1
    Port 5739 forwarded to PCs IP (IP that shows up under ipconfig 192.168.0.X)

    Linksys: 192.168.0.1
    Port 5739 forwarded to PCs IP (IP that shows up under ipconfig 192.168.0.X)

    This help ?

    Is this my correct IP ? The one I get from ipconfig ?

    Brian.

    But thats the linksys IP on the Zyex? that would also need to forward as your pc going tru that.

    Tbh just buy a bleedin all in one :D

    Zyxel allows port 5739 for Linksys which allows it for PC, cover your arse and open it for both.

    Now if the Zyexl sees your pc it may need to open the port for the linksysy too.

    I can't open the same port for two different IP address though !?

    What all-in-one would you recommend ?

    Do you know if the 360 version requiers the same port forwarding ?

    Do both routers see your pc? I both know it was 192.xxxxx?

    Both block the port by default, but as you have 2 things you need to set it for everything to open that port.

    Nets comms forum may have others in your situation/

    they all pretty much the same PC World sell them for about 70ish.

    I don't understand.

    Is the problem perhaps to do with Static Ips or something ?

    Did you get this sorted ?

    So to echo what was said above - you'll probably need a rule on the Modem for 5739 traffic forwarded to the Wireless Router.

    And a 2nd rule on the Wireless router to forward the same traffic to the PC.

    And you can test if the port is open here: http://www.whatsmyip.org/ports/

    Not sorted yet. Thanks for the extra bit of help. Will try again tonight.

    Thanks KdjaCL for all your help as well. Much appreciated guys.

    Possibly need to open the port from modem to the router, then the router to the pc. From what seen looks like you opened the port of the modem to the pc, even though it's not physically connected. I'm just guessin here but that might be it, no network wiz here like :p

    Didn't really pay attention to sofa's post , more or less the same :)

    Yeah I think I tried the following...
    1. Router -> PC
    2. Modem -> PC
    3. Modem -> PC + Router -> PC

    Will try the Modem -> Router + Router -> PC Tonight.

    If that doesn't work then I will have to hunt you all down for getting my hopes up again :)
