Was in army bargains looking at their magnum boots but they didnt have any in my size. Would anyone reccomend a pair of waterproof, breathable and high boots, I've got a budget of around 150.
    Cheers.

I have a pair of magnum safety boots from millets €80. Not ideal as they are not waterproof but they look the part.

    My next purchase would be

I have a pair of Meindel Eagles, although they're a little higher than 150, but gortex, incredibly comfy and sturdy

    here's a link

I got mine in the Great Outdoors and they were €180 if I recall. They'll order in your size if not in stock.

Agree with the lads about those tracpac. Although was in the Kildare outlet village at the weekend and there is an outdoor shop selling magnum boots for 60 and 85 euro did not get a chance to examine them so that all the details I can give.

I've got the 5.11 Tactical HRT boots (black).

Damn good. The only boots I've been able to keep going in for 24 hours (combined with their Level 2 9" socks).

If its just for airsoft I'd recomend somthing cheap and light like the ones Letal Bullet linked to. Yu can go over board and get €150 boots but unless your going to be trecking through mountains for a week you dont nedd them.

Yep they're the ones. Nice and light and took no breaking in as well.

Magnum Elites FTW! They are well worth it Liamo The ones in Army Bargains are MK VII and are as light as a feather. Don't bother with the Storm version as they don't offer any ankle support. I'd ask them to order in a pair for you.

Well, msot of the games that have been played at HRTA (I've not been to HRTA v2.0 yet courtesy of work) thus far have been very stop-start-stop-start, so a pair of cheap boots does fine.

Having been to rolling events lasting all day (and in one case three days), I've seen both sides of the benefit of a good pair of boots and would consider them worth the investment. Look after your feet and your feet will look after you.

But realistically, it depends on what you want, what you expect, and what your budget is.

Id still maintain that light flexible boots are the order of the day for pretty much any Irish airsofting. I've loads of differant boots and done loads of mil ex's in all sorts of conditions and boots. You learn pretty quickly that your feet are pretty much going to get wet and to get on with it. The likes of Meindl Army Pro's (€220) are like lead weights after you have been in a river.

I use extra tall Matterhorns as tac boots these days but thats for going through rivers and very rough terrain. Trade off is if they get fully soaked they take ages to dry, there tough to run in, failry heavy and are noisy when trying to sneak up on someone.

I think for light terrain like HRTA2 light boots like Magnums (dont pay any more then €80) or those Tracpacs. Good and light for running, will dry quickly and if there not fully waterproof you can get gortex socks or seal skin socks.

Those Meindl Eagles look nice as well but 2 pairs of Trakpacs for less money is probably better value. The real secret to wearing boots for any length of time is good socks and loads of foot powder.
