So the date is set for Sunday 16th December and the current plan is as follows.

    Ice Skating,
    Dinner (probably in Mona Lisa),
followed by drinks in The Long Stone,
    post drinks Charlies,
Dancing for anyone not about to fall over.

Feel free to join us for any part of it but I will need numbers for dinner.

Ice Skating is €18 at the RDS and the times are as follows.

    9.30 - 10.30
    10.50 - 11.50
    12.10 - 13.10
    13.30 - 14.30
    14.50-15.50
    16.10 - 17.10
    17.30 - 18.30

Ice Skating is €15 (plus ticketmaster charges) at Smithfield and times are as follows

    10.00 - 11.00
    11.00 - 12.00
    12.15 - 13.15
    13.30 - 14.30
    14.45 - 15.45
    16.00 - 17.00
    17.15 - 18.15

So does everyone think? Preference for time/venue?

    Either is fine with me.

Although heard that Smithfield can be a bit rough, ice wise.

I suppose the earlier in the afternoon session the better.

Is there still going to be a lucky dip?

    We suggested €10.

And that the gift should be wrapped.

    Hey folks,

Ok I have an update to the shindig plans.

Christmas Shindig to take place on Sunday 16th December.

Ice Skating to start the day at the RDS. We are going to the 13.30 - 14.30 session.

I'm going to ask people to book their own tickets because my credit card can't handle too much at the minute.

If you book tickets today you can get them for €7 as opposed to €18. Use this link:

    http://www.christmasonice.ie/StartBooking.asp?SlotType=1&PromotionCode=C7EZLV67

    Otherwise go here: http://www.christmasonice.ie

After that it will be dinner. Probably at Mona Lisa. Around 4pm/4.30pm.

I am now looking for numbers for this so can people please pm me and let me know if you are interested so I can get on with booking a table. Please don't pm unless you are absolutely sure. I do not want to land myself in the embarressing situation of booking for 20 and only half turning up.

After that it will be drinks in The Long Stone. Feel free to join us there.

Hope to hear from you all soon.

    Almar

As much as I would adore to go fall over on the ice and eat copiously at the mona lisa I must bow out. However I will be in the long stone with bells on. Last sunday before christmas eve! I have to work!

Is the "€10 lucky dip" thing on in the restaurant or the pub?

The Lucky Dip will take place in the pub. Anyone one who brings a present will get a present. Limit is €10. Please ensure the present is wrapped and that it is something you would like to receive. Nothing rude or icky please.

I'm new to the boards here. Sorry I missed this event.

The wife and myself have met the cast of this film/tv series a few times.
They have in fact become good friends over the years. Some of them were even at our wedding.

Nathan is one great bloke. Very, very funny off screen as well as on screen.
We are hopefully meeting some of them again this year, fingers crossed.

Watch this space for the next monthly Shindig.
The good ship Almar usually posts a date and we all pitch up.
