look for a piece of plastic on the side or back of the laptop, similar to the colour of the ir on mobile phones

Yeah i already figure that...and i tried it too..it seems to want to connect but just before there is a connection established, it displays "connection error" on the camera screen. Do i have to set something on my computer so it will recognise it?? It does come up briefly on my laptop too...at the bottom of my screen on the right of my toolbar. But then disappears along with a weird noise!!!

well I use a card reader, much more handy..

As for the cable its should be standard enough, have you tried any camera shops ?
and I never noticed an IR on the camera :)

Humm...a card reader could be a plan so!!

Yeah i tried Fujifilm in Dundrum, Tallaght, Grafton St all the other camera stores in Dundrum...Conns Camera shop off grafton st..and various computer/electrics shops!!! SO frustrating!!:(

Yeah the IR seems cool...if only i could get it to connect. When you're viewing a pic in display mode, press the f-mode button and in the f-mode menu it should list IR-Communiction first, then slide show and print order!!

Any computer shop will have a USB cable as standard. Just dont ask for a fuji one. I use a spurious cable from PC world does the Job fine cost about €3.00.

I never found IR any good when using it between mobile/laptop. Very unstable in trying to keep the connection, and that would have been just transferring small stuff from the phone. Go with the USB, or even better, the card reader to save your battery.

    Just buy a cheap one....

Card readers are generally the best way to do it.
