    Hi,
I played Pro Evo just for ten minutes and was hugely dissapointed on the PS3.

The online games are a disaster according to reports although i didn't get online yet as there is a message saying Konami are working on an update patch.

Anyway think i'll chance later today at returning it to the shop as i can't stand being ripped off!

    Anyone else returning their copy?

if you do chance your arm say it's an unwanted gift because otherwise they may just give you another copy

My point really is that it is a shambles for online play, i thought consumer rights state that if a product bought does not do what it's supposed to do then the customer is entitled to a replacement or refund?

It will be patched for online play. Same story with last years release and Konami even said they're working on a patch

there's a difference between not doing what it was meant to do and being badly made/shoite.

i'd say you do have an arguement to bring it back, i mean the game lags in one player! Just to let you know some stadiums work better than others

Were these issues there in the demo? If not you could take it back saying it doesn't conform to samples - sale of goods and supply of services act.

One thread around suggests installing it rather than playing off the disk. It SEEMS to have made a difference with the offline play anyway. Definitely doesn't seem to be as much slowdown or dropped frames. Only really noticeable when all the players are condensed into the one small area.

I shall be holidng onto it. It really is a fine game.

Seeing as I took the 30% back offer in Tesco, I'm loathe to bring it back myself, although its shocking that a game was released in that kind of condition. You can see how good it is at times, but the slowdown is appalling.

the moment you mention law to a normal member of staff they'll freak out, ring their manager and give you another copy rather then a refund. on top of that, quoting sale of goods/services act because the "sample" doesn't match up is absolutely ridiculous. demo versions of games clearly state they're NOT an accurate depiction of the final game. this covers them in various situations, including if the final game is a stinker.

just say it's an unwanted gift and you'll be fine. as long as the disc isn't marked that is.

I wouldn't mention the demo at all - The fact that its unplayable as it is should be enough.

I'd go for the unwanted gift option, say someone bought you the game for your birthday or something but you'd already bought it yourself. Saying the game is basically ****e so you should get a refund would be like trying to get money back from the cinema because the movie was ****e, it's a tough sell.

its a bucket of crap. Slow, bad framerate. Im going back to PES6. Myself and my buddy played a few games sunday night and it was nothing but frustration. he couldnt believe how **** they have made it. Do Konami even listen to the punters?

Its not as if you just don't like it. To me the game is unplayable and not fit for what it is intended. But either way, i think mine is going back.

Yeah, but plenty of other people have bought it and not brought it back in their eyes so they'll just view it as a dodgy copy and try to give you a replacement copy. I'd go for the lying route. Telling the truth just gets you in unnecessary hassle...just ask my cellmate.

In my experience, quoting the sale of goods act will get you whatever you want there and then. I don't wanna come across as a dick, but if you cause a fuss you are more likely to get your way. I've tried being nice with people when it comes to returning products, but sometimes you have to be short.

Point taken. I havn't played the game as it happens, but I suppose other clauses of the act depend on just how bad it is...obviously if there are excessive problems/errors then the game isn't really of merchantable quality.

I'd imagine you'd have a fairly tough time returning a game because "its badly made"

Probably. It's a pity though, because with consoles there really isn't an excuse. With PCs, its hard to write for a universal system...console games should work flawlessly.

i'd be fairly sure merchantable quality with regard to software means it loads, runs and is playable. framerate and awfulness doesn't really count because it doesn't throw up 40 errors and crash without konami having any intention of patching
