This is for all the penny savers out there.

A company called Betamax provide VOIP services under the guise of many different companies. Ultimately, their software is the same but the only thing that is different is the rates which change on a regular basis from site to site.

This site monitors the rates and helps you to choose the best provider for where you wish to call and ensures you get the best value for money.

from that chart voip seems like a rip off to me
for irish numbers(national) and mobiles i am getting cheaper rates using my mobile on vodafone !
    i know voip-voip is free
i suppose there are savings to be made for international calls ?

There are great savings to be made on international calls and I'm also getting free national calls which is suiting me down to the ground because I find myself ringing Dublin more and more often these days!

I hope Im not breaking any rules here but I thought id mention these guys. We use them here and have had no problems. Its voip to PSTN so there are none of the usual quality issues you get normally when calling foreign destinations http://www.worldlink.ie/voip_rates_signup.html

They are suprisingly expensive in todays market:
    Destination Our Rate Eircom
    Ireland - Local 3.5¢ 4.93¢
    Ireland - National 3.5¢ 8.17¢
    Ireland - Vodafone/O2 21¢ 23.1¢
    Ireland - Mobile/Meteor 26¢ 29.2¢
    UK 5¢ 15.37¢
    USA 5¢ 19¢
    Australia 5¢ 85.79¢
    Croatia 12¢ 91.96¢
    China 10¢ 124.63¢

    There are far cheaper providers.
