I hope it's permitted to sell cars on this forum.
I have a lovely teal blue roadster for sale. No rust issues, lovely body, and mechanically sound. Only 57K on the clock which I think is genuine. Long service history. I've had the car checked and anything that needed doing has been done under the guidance of a respected Irish MGB expert who will vouch for the car. To be 100% honest, there are two small bits still to be done on the car but I haven't had time. Neither are urgent or expensive.
    1. The driver's side window winder mechanism is seized. The MGB expert I dealt with has said he will replace it for free.
    2. The brake master cylinder could do with replacing but it's still quite okay to drive the car. It would cost about £50 Sterling for the part and I believe it's an easy job.
I've decided to sell because I hardly use the car and I've decided to buy a cheaper classic. Actually I want a beetle!
The car currently stands me at about 14,000 Euro so I won't give it away.
I'm looking for €11,750 for the car. You might find a cheaper car but you'll end up spending a fortune on it to bring it to the standard of this one.
I have a couple of photos on photobucket.com as a taster. In fact these are old photos and if anyone is seriously interested and wants more recent photos I'll send them on.

Finally, I've had the car about 14 months but I've used the car so little that it's still on UK plates.

Good luck with that - it's a lovely car but you could easily pick up one just as good for €7-8k you may have spent a lot of money restoring it but doesn't necessarily add to the value of the car I'm afraid.
Also you haven't mentioned what year it is - kind of important when you're buying a car!

good luck with sale, i think you would do better looking for about €7k for it though.

Eamon, I knew someone would say that! Believe me, I've been down this road before! Sure you could get a car that looks as good as mine....from a distance! for 7 to 8 grand...but when you'd get into the nitty gritty I can guarantee you'd find lots of problems that need sorting and by the time you'd have got it up to scratch you'd still be spending 13 or 14 K, unless of course you can carry out all the work yourself. My car needs nothing except the two small jobs I mentioned and I'm sure it's well worth the money. So I'm willing to hold out for a reasonable price.

Sorry, forgot to mention that it's a 1973 model.
New hood, new bumpers, new wing, new door, sills repaired, plus other bits and bobs

For once, I believe that the asking price for this MGB (according to description) is spot on and even on the low side.

    Good luck.

I agree, this equates to about £8000 sterling. An MGB Roadster in that sort of condition would fetch more than that.

That said it will probably take a while to sell, but hold out for the right person and it will sell.

Thanks to the guys who supported my asking price. Yes, my car is worth it!
I just turned down an offer of 9 grand for the car and although not insulted, I tried to convince him that unless you pay good money for a car you will make up the difference and more by paying for bodywork and other repairs. If a dealer asks 9K he's obviously got to make a profit, pay vat plus cost of any work on the car he's done. So what's the car really worth, maybe 6k. So my car from a dealer would probably cost 13.5k or more.

Anyone else out there want a yummy roadster with nothing to hide?
